Cascadian Landscaping was founded by Peter Jackson, a lifelong Fidalgo Islander. An offshoot of his earlier nonprofit Cascadian Natural Farming, he brings all of his skills in permaculture, natural farming, regenerative agriculture and various other horticultural pursuits and botanical passions to create landscapes that reflect a sentiment of bioregional stewardship.
"Do unto those downstream as you would have those upstream do unto you"-Wendell Berry
We will never use any chemical sprays to control weeds or pests, instead using the trinity of mulch, microbes and minerals to make magic! Bringing an array of hand tools and gas or battery powered tools and machines when needed, we can keep human environments healthy, and free from polluting effects while being friendly to pollinators. Be like nature and remember nature likes bees!
Chemicals for weeds and pests, and microplastics littering our environment at many scales are forms of pollution that will have untold effects for generations to come. If we are what we eat, and what we eat comes from the ground and sea primarily, we must be careful what we put in our yards for it all comes back around. I am influenced by many farmers, scientists, indigenous humans and nature itself to be a great steward in how we treat our soil and waters to help heal our planet. Our aquifers can be recharged, our land shaded and cooled, and our soilbanks growing with interest if we choose wisely.
